Calming Therapy from Licensed Professionals

If you’d like to book a massage, simply let your concierge know which treatment you’d like and when you’d like it. A licensed therapist will visit you at the villa in Costa Rica to perform the massage you’ve requested at your preferred time. You can customize your treatment any way you want to get the most out of it.

Here is a list of Costa Rica massage therapy treatments available at Casa Teresa:

Deep Tissue Massage

If you’re dealing with some stiff muscles, a deep tissue massage could be just what you need. It’s perfect for wringing out those knots and easing the tension locked into your muscles. The technique applies sustained pressure through deep, slow strokes to reach the inner muscle layers and connective tissue. If you’ve been busy adventuring along nearby hiking trails or exploring waterfalls, swimming or surfing, this is the perfect way to unwind afterward.

A quality deep tissue massage in Costa Rica can help improve blood circulation, break up scar tissue, and even reduce inflammation. It can also help boost oxytocin levels, helping you to relax and release stress.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

This is a gentle massage that helps relieve painful swelling in your arms and legs caused by an accumulation of lymph fluid. Normally, this fluid is cleaned out by the lymphatic system through your blood. However, if something disrupts this process, this fluid can collect in your arms and legs, making them swell.

Manual lymphatic drainage is a light, skin-stretching technique that helps improve the movement of lymphatic fluid through a limb. At Casa Teresa in Costa Rica, this massage therapy is performed by a licensed expert to help you relieve swollen limbs and regain your vitality.

Thai Massage

Thai massage has been around for over 2,500 years. It actually originated in India and today, combines elements of Indian and Chinese wellness techniques. Unlike with Western-type massages, you lie fully clothed on a mat while a therapist works your whole body using a series of movements similar to yogic stretching.

They will apply a combination of pulling, stretching, and rocking techniques to help relieve tension and improve circulation and relaxation. A properly administered Thai massage, like the one at Casa Teresa, can do wonders for joint and back pain and help promote muscle flexibility so that you can enjoy Costa Rica to the fullest.

Reiki Massage

Casa Teresa is one of the few spots in Costa Rica to offer this massage therapy. Reiki is a form of Japanese energy healing. Trained practitioners channel energy through their palms to promote physical and emotional healing for the recipients. It is believed to help improve relaxation and reduce stress and anxiety by restoring the natural balance and flow of energy to your body.

It’s a gentle-touch massage technique, wherein your therapist will place their palms on or just above specific energy locations throughout your body and stimulate energy healing.

Reflexology, also called zone therapy, is an alternative medical practice. It involves applying pressure to specific points on bodily extremities, including feet, hands, and ears. The theory is that these points correspond to various organs and systems of the body. At Casa Teresa in Costa Rica, your massage therapist will gently manipulate and press these points to help improve the function and health of their corresponding bodily locations.

Reflexology is believed to help calm the nervous system, reduce pain, and promote relaxation.
