Private Costa Rica Helicopter Tours

Pull far above from the sparkling coastline and awe in the beauty of Santa Teresa from a different point of view. Costa Rica helicopter tours are one of our most popular experiences here at Casa Teresa. They offer a unique way to escape the summer crowds and see the peninsula in its entirety.

Arrange a luxury helicopter tour during your stay as part of your Santa Teresa itinerary.

A Different Way to See the Coast

Traveling across the Nicoya Peninsula is quite an adventure. But to see more remote destinations, you may need to drive for several hours on unpaved roads or book multiple boat transfers. From the air, the region appears much smaller.

You can move from dense green hills to open coastline in a matter of minutes. Islands that would otherwise take hours to reach come into view the moment you reach altitude. The scale of it all is quite magical. How the land folds into the ocean, and how isolated certain stretches of beach are.

The advantage of Costa Rica helicopter tours is that you can cover more of the peninsula in a single flight, without committing to hours of ground travel. And you truly can’t beat the perspective.

What Your Flight Includes

Each experience is arranged as a private Costa Rica helicopter charter, tailored to your stay and schedule.

Your flight includes:

  • Ground coordination and arrival planning at SJO or Liberia
  • A scenic flight over Isla Tortuga and several surrounding Islands
  • An overflight of the famous Montezuma Waterfall, just outside of Santa Teresa proper
  • A bottle of champagne or a similar in-flight option

Everything is handled in advance. No coordination required on your end.

What You’ll See From the Air

Isla Tortuga

One of the Gulf of Nicoya’s most popular day trip islands. From land, many tourists book catamarans or boats with large groups to get here, which typically takes a few hours round-trip. With a luxury helicopter tour, you get to experience the clear-blue waters and white sands from above.

Isla San Lucas

As a former penal colony, Isla San Lucas still has visible structures from its time as a prison. From the air, you can pick out the buildings along the coastline and throughout the more rugged, undeveloped interior.

Guayabo Islands

These smaller and largely undeveloped islands aren’t home to any major beaches or man-made structures. But as part of a protective wildlife reserve, they’ve become famous for their seabird activity. One of the country’s largest populations of nesting brown pelicans lives here and can be seen on your Costa Rica helicopter charter, depending on the time of day.

Montezuma Waterfall

One of the highlights of our luxury Costa Rica helicopter tour is our flight over Montezuma Waterfall. You get to see these three breathtaking cascades from above, which may inevitably inspire you to hike to them later on in your visit for a cool, freshwater dip.

Throughout your excursion, you’ll also pass over several other islands off the coast of the peninsula, including Isla Chira, Isla Bejuco, Isla Caballo, and Isla Cedros.
